Søren has practiced immigration and nationality law in the Yakima Valley since 2002, successfully assisting hundreds of people from around the world on their applications for U.S. visas, permanent residency and citizenship. He has also zealously represented immigrants in removal (deportation) proceedings before the Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and in the federal courts.
Born in Chicago and raised in New York and Argentina, Søren is bilingual in English and Spanish and conversant in Chinese, French, Italian and Portuguese. He graduated from Yale University with honors in International and Latin American Studies and received his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law. Prior to opening his own office, Søren worked for the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project for nine years, first as a staff attorney and then as the directing attorney of the office in Granger, Washington.
Søren is admitted to practice before the Washington State Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Washington State Bar Association, and the Yakima County Bar Association.
Lorena Legorreta has been a legal assistant at Rottman Immigration Law since July, 2011. She was born and raised in a small town in Jalisco, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States in 1990. Lorena is bilingual in English and Spanish and enjoys helping our clients assemble all of the necessary documents and information for the approval of their immigration and citizenship cases!
Yessica has been the receptionist at Rottman Immigration Law since February, 2018. She was born and raised near Guadalajara, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States in 2013. Yessica is bilingual in English and Spanish and enjoys interacting with our clients over the phone and in person. She looks forward to greeting you soon!
