Søren has practiced immigration and nationality law since 2002, successfully assisting hundreds of people from around the world on their applications for U.S. visas, permanent residency and citizenship. He has also represented immigrants in removal (deportation) proceedings before the Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the federal courts.
Søren is bilingual in English and Spanish and conversant in Mandarin, French, Italian and Portuguese. He graduated from Yale University with honors in International and Latin American Studies and received his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law. Prior to opening his own firm, Søren worked for the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project for nine years, first as a staff attorney and then as the directing attorney of the office in Granger, Washington.
Søren is admitted to practice before the Washington State Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Washington State Bar Association, and the Yakima County Bar Association.
